Das Werk NOW IS NOT NOW ist Teil des umfassenden Projekts I NOW  kuratiert von: Prof. Arta Agani,  welches sich intensiv mit der Konzeption und Wahrnehmung von Zeit, Gegenwart und der Relativität dieser Dimensionen auseinandersetzt. I NOW ist eine  Auseinandersetzung mit dem Moment des Jetzt und hinterfragt die traditionellen Vorstellungen von Zeit und ihrer linearen Struktur. Innerhalb dieses Projekts kommen verschiedene Werke zusammen, die jeweils eine unterschiedliche Perspektive auf das Thema Zeit bieten.

Eines der Werke, HOW LONG IS NOW (1997), beschäftigt sich mit der Dauer und Vergänglichkeit des Moments. Es stellt die Frage, wie lange der "Jetzt"-Moment tatsächlich dauert und wie unser Bewusstsein die Wahrnehmung der Gegenwart formt. Es fordert den Betrachter dazu auf, die subjektive Erfahrung von Zeit zu hinterfragen und die fließende, schwer greifbare Natur des Jetzt zu erkennen.

Das Werk, NOW HAS NO BEGINNING AND NO END, (2024) dekonstruieret die Grenzen des „Jetzt“ und suggeriert, dass die Gegenwart nicht durch klare Anfangs- oder Endpunkte definiert werden kann. Stattdessen wird die Vorstellung von Zeit als kontinuierlicher und zyklischer Fluss angeregt, der nicht an traditionellen Zeitstrukturen festhält. Hier wird die Unbeständigkeit der Zeit und die Unmöglichkeit, den „Jetzt“-Moment als festen Punkt zu fassen, thematisiert.

Dictatorship of NOW (2024) schließlich nimmt eine kritische Haltung gegenüber der Idee ein, dass der Moment der Gegenwart oft als das einzig Relevante betrachtet wird und dabei andere Zeitdimensionen wie die Vergangenheit oder Zukunft in den Hintergrund treten. Es wird die politische und gesellschaftliche Dimension der Gegenwart thematisiert, indem aufgezeigt wird, wie in einer modernen Welt oft das Drängen, ständig im „Jetzt“ zu leben und zu agieren, die Wahrnehmung der komplexen Verflechtungen von Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft unterdrückt.

Ein weiteres Werk, is NOW a standstill (2025), untersucht die Frage, ob das Jetzt in einem Zustand des Stillstands existiert oder ob es sich fortwährend verändert. Es hinterfragt, ob die Wahrnehmung eines statischen Moments eine Illusion ist oder ob das Jetzt tatsächlich als bewegungslos betrachtet werden kann. Dieses Werk regt dazu an, die Dynamik und Fluidität des Moments zu reflektieren und die Möglichkeit eines absoluten Stillstands der Gegenwart zu hinterfragen.

Zusammen bilden diese Werke im Rahmen des Projekts I NOW ein vielschichtiges Gefüge, das den Betrachter dazu anregt, die Konzepte von Zeit, Gegenwart und Wahrnehmung neu zu hinterfragen.

The work NOW IS NOT NOW is part of the comprehensive project I NOW , curated by Prof. Arta Agani, which intensively explores the conception and perception of time, the present, and the relativity of these dimensions. I NOW is an exploration of the now moment and questions traditional notions of time and its linear structure. Within this project, various works come together, each offering a different perspective on the topic of time.

One of the works, HOW LONG IS NOW  (1997), explores the duration and transience of the moment. It questions how long the "now" moment actually lasts and how our consciousness shapes our perception of the present. It invites the viewer to question the subjective experience of time and recognize the fluid, elusive nature of the now.

NOW HAS NO BEGINNING AND NO END (2024) deconstructs the boundaries of the "now," suggesting that the present cannot be defined by clear beginnings or endpoints. Instead, it encourages the notion of time as a continuous and cyclical flow that does not adhere to traditional temporal structures. Here, the impermanence of time and the impossibility of grasping the "now" moment as a fixed point are addressed.

Finally, Dictatorship of NOW  (2024) takes a critical stance against the idea that the present moment is often viewed as the only relevant moment, while other temporal dimensions such as the past or future fade into the background. It addresses the political and social dimension of the present by demonstrating how, in a modern world, the pressure to constantly live and act in the "now" often suppresses the perception of the complex interrelationships of past, present, and future.

Another work, is NOW a standstill (2025), explores whether the now exists in a state of stillness or whether it is constantly changing. It questions whether the perception of a static moment is an illusion or whether the now can truly be considered motionless. This work invites reflection on the dynamism and fluidity of the moment and questions the possibility of an absolute standstill of the present.

Together, these works within the I NOW project form a multi-layered structure that invites viewers to re-examine concepts of time, presence, and perception.
